How do Fundraising Events Support St. Mark Lutheran School?

All revenue from our fundraising events is allocated to the listed funds according to the percentage noted below.

Tuition Assistance Fund (40%)

The Tuition Assistance Fund helps support families who desire a Christian education for their family, but may not have all the financial resources to do so. Financial Aid is awarded to families who qualify after a review of their financial records through FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment Services.

Quality Teaching & Learning Resource Fund (20%)

The Quality Teaching and Learning Fund supports education by providing the necessary equipment, books, and classroom supplies needed to meet the needs of today’s students.

Technology Fund (20%)

The Technology Fund supports the schools desire to continually improve the school by enhancing technology. This includes purchasing new equipment such as computers, projectors, interactive white boards, etc.

Contingency Fund (15%)

The Contingency Fund supports the school by providing a source of revenue to address unforeseen circumstances that arise during the school year. Examples of items supported by this found include new program application fees, facility repairs, equipment repairs or replacement, and other items or events that impact the overall school budget.

Teacher Professional Development Fund (5%)

The Teacher Professional Development Fund supports teacher development and enhancement. A healthy school is one that strives for continual improvement, with the staff leading the way. This fund supports teachers as they work towards a higher degree, take classes or workshops on a specific instructional strategy, or begin a new instructional role within the school.

Scrip and its Benefits

Print

Scrip is a term for “substitute money”. In our case it’s gift certificates and gift cards that you can use to make purchases at over 100 stores and restaurants, both local and national. You can use scrip to pay for purchases at grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies, department stores, gas stations, home improvement stores, video stores, etc. You simply pay the face value for the gift certificates you want. It costs nothing extra!

If you participate, you can designate where 60% of the profits derived from your purchases are to be used annually.  Simply fill out an Earnings Designation Form. This form lists the church and school programs you can “spend” your profits on.

There are downloads on the left about scrip.
